Last call for parent partners to help welcome new parents - especially at Dupleix, Suffren and next year's Theatre 6emes.
PiA offers all new parents the chance to have a Parent Partner to help welcome them to the school. This service is offered to new Parisian families as well as arriving international families. New parents tell us that the programme has been an enormous help. Read some testimonials printed last year in Accent.
The idea is provide a friendly point of contact – someone who can help demystify school procedures and help new families with their questions. Now moving into its 3rd year, the Parent partner programme can only work with your help!
Please will you sign up as a partner? It is not necessary to be a complete expert on the school or Paris – just a friendly point of contact who can point a new family in the right direction to find answers to their questions.
The time commitment is not too onerous – phone or email contact, preferably before the summer holidays and then maybe a coffee or a Sunday afternoon tea just before or after la Rentree and a willingness to respond to email or phone questions.
We partner families on the basis of languages spoken and ages of children.
If you would like to help, please email our parent partner team for your section, giving your name, nationality, languages spoken, names and classes of children (for next year - 2008/9).
Those of you in Dupleix and Suffren lucky enough to have been offered places for younger siblings, we are particularly keen to sign you up as we are always short of MS and GS partners. At Theatre, there is a large influx of new 6eme, so if you have a child currently in 7eme, please consider helping.
