If you're going to be in Paris over the holidays, there are some wonderful activities going on in the museums. An excellent source on information on these, and activities throughout the year is the LAMUSE website. There is also a useful section on ideas for birthday parties. They offer a regular email service which you can sign up to from the website.
Rozenn has also sent us details of Portail Jeunes which is Mairie de Paris site and looks to have masses of useful information
